The South West’s partnership for multi-racial theatre is a consortium of arts organisations from across Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset and Devon, set up by Tangle in 2012. The partnership exists to develop and progress opportunities for multi-racial arts activity across South West England, and through theatre making, to open up opportunities for artists from a wide range of global heritages to have a stronger and more consistent presence in the region.

Conceived as a direct result of EVERYTHING MATTERS, Tangle’s 2012 action research project, the partnership consists of four consortia each of which meets twice yearly. Each group is chaired by a local organisation that works closely with Tangle staff throughout the year to explore ways by which we can progress opportunities for artists, and for programming more African- Caribbean and multi-racial theatre across South West England. In 2016 the consortium will expand to include arts communities in Gloucestershire and Dorset.
